Monster zoo - bug

Monster zoo isn't counting number of monsters left in when I went up to regenerate health and go back down to kill it.

I've noticed this too, if you change floors, or if you exit the game and load it back up, the zoo counter disappears.

Changing floors without killing any monsters and immediately closing the door causes the zoo counter to bug out. I haven't noticed any other way that it stops counting.
I've personally kited a whole zoo all over the place n then use stairs as a funnel and had no problem with the counter. Mostly it's when I immediately shut the door bc I'm like oh ♥♥♥♥ MONSTER ZOO and then it stays up til the next zoo.
