Hi all !
I'm bit disappointed about what happened right now, I've finished downloading this game, and then i validated it and everything seems fine. But when i click on desktop icon to launch the game, it shows Steam popup window and then...Nothing ! I can't see that I've actually launched the game.
I've tried to close steam , it says that i need to exit E.Y.E game first ! How would i do that? I went to task manager and found E.Y.E.exe is already running ? I did End Process and then i exit steam, restarted it again...Same problem !
My PC Spec:
Win7 64bit
4GB RAM
Intel Core i5 CPU 3.20GHz
600GB Free space
Nvidia Geforce GTS 450
:( Thank you

I've checked your topic btw, and yes maybe the win vista and 7 users have this "game launching" issue...

Cool, another thing I tried since that the last post in that thread is emptying the eye/media/StartupVids.txt, which didn't work, so I tried deleting it as well(hoping it would use the standard valve intro vid) but didn't work either, so it at least doesn't seem to have anything to do with that.
The times I did manage to get the video running though it looked like an opening screen similar to what is seen with UE3 games, but with animation, but that might have been just due to the wonky way it was launching...
If it does use the video from startupvids.txt, then that's not the issue at least, so it's something else), I've also looked around for the mini crashdumps, but couldn't find them, where does E.Y.E put them? Assuming there even will be crashdumps since the game doesn't really launch at all.

Oh well, I've read also if you do "-novid" at the game library -> properties -> launch options might help...But not for me, same issue occurred.
Can't wait for a fix !

Tried that too, though it probably does the same, almost looked like it worked though, the screen went fully black, but then the windows icon popped up on the bottom left, then the steam window showed up again, so it didn't work... darn D:

Yeah me neither, been attracted to take a peek at some of the other threads, really makes me more itchy to try it.

Having the exact same issue here.
Oh well, guess we'll just have to wait out for a miracle patch or something. Better make it fast though, more people might have run into this issue and still might, so chop-chop gentlemen.

:( , I've also uninstalled the game and started the download it again...Same Problem.
Its funny that it shows in my Steam Library that I've played the game for 30mins  ? Which I Did not! It seems that the game runs normally in the background- because i can find it in the Task manager E.Y.E.exe running.
@Developers, do we expect a patch/fix coming this week or not?

Updated AVG today, now when launching it gave me a warning that there was a threat from the .exe, probablly a false positive, I wonder if this had anything to do with the problems...
Anyway reinstalling the game and will be trying again after that.
Edit:
Nope, now AVG doesn't pick it up, so I guess it may have gotten infected previously somehow, now it's clean again apparently, still not working obviously though.

Hello,
The patch should hopefully be released at the beginning of the week. We're still working on it in order to fix as many major bugs and issues as possible.

sounds good ! :)
each time i start the game i get an message from my Avast anti virus.it says the application is potentially unsafe and recommends playing in sandbox mode.
i ignored that message and opened it normally...
- why is that message popping up ?
- is there any risk to my system playing the game in normal mode ?

Hmm, I'm getting worried now because there are more than 2000 players enjoying the game right now , I doubt it could be win 7 or vista (32 or 64bit) is causing this issue. I've tried everything, i even uninstalled the antivirus, game, graphic and audio drivers. I can't seem to find any change ...I don't see many people complaining about launching the game, only few of us...:(
I'm tired of waiting, i want to play the game

It's not just you, there are a few. Me and all but one of my friends are able to play, I've had the one friend uninstall/reinstall, he's gone and verified the cache, at one point he made it to the menu but then it crashed on him when he tried to start a game. He keeps repeatedly launching it now out of frustration.

Have you tried setting the resolution in the Properties/Launch area?

-w 1024 -h 768 -novid
Edit: More stuff to try or check...

There wasn't a patch right? The game launches for me now and I can get into the main menu! Haven't tried anything else yet but I assume it all works now.
If there wasn't a patch, the only reason for me could have been the driver issues I've been having yesterday, I recently updated them to see if E.Y.E would work then and included catalyst control center which I previously didn't have installed.
However it didn't change a thing, but yesterday evening I found out my system would do something weird when playing .mkv video files, it didn't have that before and it happened on files that were working fine previously.
I blamed catalyst control center for that, never trusted the bloody thing, never had benefits of it, so I decided to get rid of it and while at it reinstall the drivers.
I got into some trouble with the driver reinstall, but after I fixed it and the drivers were reinstalled, the .mkv playback was now fine again.
This afternoon I went to try VeryBumpy's resolution thing, now E.Y.E got to the mainmenu, then I relaunched without any of the launch options, everything still worked, the intro video worked fine too.
So, either something was messily installed the first time with my new drivers, or catalyst control center was ♥♥♥♥ing stuff up, I think it's the latter as it tries to mess with all kinds of settings even at default settings.
Previously I also had my drivers installed without Catalyst Control Center, but those were over a year old, so the new drivers at least seem to have helped :)
So, maybe it's worth a try Ati users that have this issue, get rid of Catalyst Control Center, if that doesn't work, reinstall(or update if they're old) drivers completely without it(but be careful with that, yesterday I ran into major troubles, probably had to do with the old drivers not being uninstalled 100% properly, then I couldn't reinstall at all)

That's weird, I've uninstalled the game again and re-installed it back, launched the game..And it worked, in which i also saw the main menu of the game..So started with solo campaign and everything seems fine until i reached the mirror?..I went through it, the game crashes.
I went again to Launch the game, same old problem occurred- Stuck with game lunching issue..I thought there was a hope, but .
@Skacky , according to what i read in the forum, not only 32bit users have crashing issues..Also 64bit users are facing this problem, please note that.
Thank you!

Exact same problem for me. The game launched no problem the first time, crashed when going through the portal, and didn't want to run after that. I tried re-downloading it, same exact thing.
I hope the fix comes soon, a friend of mine is waiting for me to start playing co-op. :p

Cmon we need the patch soon...I have a feeling that I've wasted my 18$ for just an extra icon on my desktop...Pff i can't launch the game at all. Although I own way better graphic games like CoD Black ops, MoH, GTAIV and more with no errors or crashes.
All what i can see that the number of players playing the game is climbing up on steam stats, makes me feel worried...I don't know whether if its good or bad..heh

Nice one :), Enjoy the game mate and I would like to know what you think about it?

As I said before we are really hard working to fix these issues and the patch should be released very soon.
We're terribly sorry things like this are happening to you and we are doing our best to release the patch as soon as possible.

Is it just me or does this problem seem to affect users with only 4GB of RAM and ATI cards? Could it have something to do with virtual memory? Also, do you have a spare nVidia card kicking around that you could pop in your PC?
