View Full Version : Is it physics on HL2DM that causes WinDS crash?

DM_lockdown crashes when I bump into walls whilst wealding the Gravity Gun to lift objects.

For example, I hold up a bench and run into wall corner and server dies; or box into another corner/gate and server dies, or bench (again) in doorway.

DM_overwatch rarely crashes, but I did crouch in the blocked doorway (at the start of level) from the outside and moved inward (which started to make everything fall) and server crashed.

Dedicated Server (Windows) setup http://www.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=202509

Perhaps these are just coincidences, but every crash always happens when someone is carrying something and hits a wall/door.

Bouncing cars down the street = server crash. Banging into walls, particularly with objects = server crash.

Have noticed that a lot of dedicated HL2DM servers are Latency 2000 (i.e. crashed) even some jolt.co.uk and other professional hosted ones too.

Interestingly it seems to be HL2DM rather than CSS that is unstable, why could that be?

I am hoping that uploading memory dumps and INF to Valve Support helps resolve this (apparently) unstable game server; but I've been waiting for a few days and haven't heard anything yet.
