Clicky (http://www.geek.com/articles/chips/google-runs-900000-servers-uses-0-01-of-worlds-electricity-2011081/)

Even though it is .01%, that is still a lot for one company.

I get annoyed with the lack of specificity in google images & youtube searches.

48+ hours of video per minute uploaded to YouTube?!?
We gonna need some faster cameras soon.
One with a time warp device that can record in 2880x speed.

( though then you could theoretically record a lottery draw in time to watch it before it....

...Brain 3.1 has recovered from a serious error.)

What's funny is, even if firewalls filter certain explicit images due to tags, you can still see the thumbnails in Google images with the content filter off.

And pretty much anything you Google now-in-days will come up with at least 1 adult image...

I guess it's a good thing they invested a good amount of money in a solar power company.

I'm more interested in regard to the bandwidth usage. Electricity is boring.

If we assigned electricity evenly to everyone on Earth, and there were exactly 7 billion people, Google would be using the allotment of 700,000 people. For 900,000 servers.

So google produces x% of the worlds pollution?

If Google wasn't using that electricity, someone else would.
