If I pre-order Skyrim on Steam, all I get is some lame hat in TF2?
Yeah yeah, Quake 20% off, but let's be honest, that isn't a pre-order bonus.
Are there plans on a pre-order bonus?
should of been labeled "check out these lame special offers" ..
i'm waiting to see pre-orders from other sites for bonus stuff and not a stupid TF2 item.

as far as i have been able to tell looks like it uses GFWL ( I know WTF?) and there is nothing being said if the steam version has the map.
Would imagine they would enclose the file and you'd have to print it out as a PDF or something, however I have not read anything saying this for digital downloads. hopefully someone who has can confirm one way or the other.
Edit: Whew! looks as if my GFWL comment is wrong, so scratch that. Please lets soo hope I am wrong. Seems there is a tad bit of confusion over this at the moment.

Skyrim will not be using GFWL.
Not sure where you're getting your information from.

So anyways was rooting out this and again thanks to BC2 Cypher for pointing out that which I had stated that with all the misinformation out there over the skyrim GFWL issue. It doesnt appear to have any merit.
So if someone tells you it has it they are wrong.
Just so you know dug my retail version of Fallout: New vegas and yes indeedy it has the Games for Windows tag on the box. I believe this is confusing people as the Games for Windows tag is NOT the same as GFWL. So thankfully I was misinformed and happy to say so :)
Yes google the subject there is a ton of people saying things that are just not true. So BC2 Cypher I hope you'll understand how I was misinformed. Cheers mate

umm I am sorry I cant say with any certainty you would. In other games when things have changed like price or preorder bonus items sometimes people have simpley canceled thier preorder and then reorder with the cheaper price to get the discount ornew content.
However, each case may be different. Sorry I am not much help

to do this you will need to contact steam and cancel your order first and then reorder at the cheaper price.
So if they do give a 10% discount be sure to cancel during the week when they are there, and can process your order.

What's this crap about GFWL? Is it really going to use that awful system?

No, people have been saying this because it says "Games for Windows" on the box. That does not mean GFWL.

Games for Windows just means that it has native support for the X360 controller if you plug it in your PC. That's all. GFWL is some sort of DRM/social network/achievement tracker. I hate it ... It disconnects for every fart in your internet and lags the game when it does ...

I pre-ordered the PC version of Skyrim from a smaller web retailer and got an email today saying that their supplier have told them that while the PS3 and XB360 versions will get the bonus map but the PC version won't!
It seems if ordering a boxed copy over the web, not everybody will get the bonus map. The bigger web retailers, that have a higher price, are more likely to have all the maps they need as they probably order directly from Bethesda, but a smaller retailer that buys from a wholesaler might not.
Unless you know for certain you are getting the bonus map, I would contact your web retailer on Monday or Tuesday and get confirmation your pre-order WILL get the bonus map.

Hey, John. I know that necromancy is still around, but we don't practice it here.
