Bug in final level - nothing happens

Playing through the game on a third profile, got to The Hammer (final stage), and the level loads then... nothing. My guy just floats in the air, and nothing happens, no dialogue, it doesn't fly up as its supposed to to talk to the final boss. Tried altering my save game to go back a level and beat the previous stage (the Pendulum), did it, same thing happened. Anyone run into this?

I ran into this once, my weapons were too heavy for me to fly up. I switched to a light weapon (then back after the dialogue) and it worked fine.
