Questions on regional lock

I'm from Singapore and due to the region lock issue, I can't purchase this game.

I was wondering if it's possible to activate and play this game if I were to get a friend of mine from the US to gift it to me?

Also, I can view AP from my office computer but not when I'm on my home laptop.
Was wondering if anyone know why this is happening? :confused:

I'm from Thailand and I'm downloading it at the moment. (The game's region locked here, too)
I'll update if it runs or not when I finish the download.

I'm pretty sure that there will be no problems, because when the game was first released, it wasn't region locked.
Also, if you have a game in your account, in almost all cases, it won't be region locked.

BTW the game's on sale at greenmangaming for $6.35 and you can register it on steam if you want to risk it.
The sale should be over before I finish downloading.
