I thought about buying it over the summer for the same price but didn't pull the trigger. Is it a good game?

It's a good turn base game but I rather buy it under $10. 50% off isn't a good deal in the current economy.

It's an amazing game if you like strategy. Youtube search "wtf frozen synapse" to really see it

Plus, you can sell the extra copy for 12 bucks when the sale ends! Or trade for a game or gift or whatever you want

I recommend it. It's a very unique game with awesome tactical and strategical elements.

Very enjoyable, thinking mans game.
The devs are still adding things to improve it.
Well worth the asking price.

If you enjoy turn-based strategy games, this one is amazingly awesome. The soundtrack is also really great.

I thought it was fun, but my copy was free. It gets a little repetitive after awhile (I got 40 hours), once you figure out the mechanics its kind of like rock paper scissors (Cover > Standing Still > Aiming > Moving, ect) with a little randomness (not strategy) thrown in by explosives.

The game page clearly shows a Metacritic score of 85. Why are you asking again?

Because Metacritic is the absolute truth?

I would pay maybe $5 for it. It just doesn't look all that interesting to me. Looks like the type of game to kill an afternoon with and never look at again.

I tried the demo it looks like fun but I dont know if I am patient enough to wait for the turns to load. Maybe Ill grab it when its cheaper or trade for someones other copy.

I felt the same way as you, based on screenshots and such. Until I really researched this game and watched the TotalBiscuit vid (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jJrUY27O0Y) and played the demo did I see what it actually is.

Trojax, I'm unsure of what you mean. If you're just impatient to properly plan out strategy and do about 30 seconds of planning before hitting "prime" (and therefore lose), I'm not too different from you (especially by turn 3 of a match). However, I find that if I do the PBEM (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Play-by-mail_game) method going in, then I only have to concentrate at one turn at a time. So I can take 10 minutes and not feel rushed. Then hit Prime and go on to another game or do some work or whatever. I also like the way this makes me able to open up the game and know that I'll be out in 15 minutes, rather than waste my day away.

If you're impatient to wait for the other person to make his move, that comes with any TBS. Heck, this ones better than most because you both plan simultaneously.

a silly question, but i want to buy this, and gift the extra copy to a friend. Which option do i choose when purchasing?

Just buy it for yourself. You'll see the extra key in your "manage gifts and guest pass" option in Steam

Take a look at Gamersgate - they have it on sale too.

I just meant it takes like 20-25 seconds in the demo to load after you plan your strategy. Sort of a drag, but I guess I am impatient.

O Rly? Watch the Totalbiscuit video. It takes about 3-4 seconds for him, and it's no different for me (you are, I assume, referring to that status line that goes across before the big OUTCOME text shows up)

Got it last night and it's worth $25. $12.50 is a steal for two copies.
