Increase your mouse sensitivity (set to lower DPI number, around 200 or so). This should fix it.

set to lower DPI number
A DPI setting of 16000 makes it assume that you have an ultra sensitive mouse, 10x past any I have seen. It assumes 16000 units of movement (almost two feet with a good mouse) is one inch, and moves the chopper accordingly. Reducing the number to 800 means that it thinks that 800 units (one inch of mouse movement) is one inch, and moves the chopper as intended. Reducing again to 200 means that your chopper moves 4x as fast, as it thinks that you moved the mouse four inches for every one that you actually do.

When you're doing that calibration test, you're supposed to calmly move your mouse the way you normally do. That will give it a very accurate calibration.

You have to try to set it manually to the number it spits out, since it will actually set the DPI about 600 or more higher than the test reads not to mention I say try because every time i try to set the DPI manually it likes to randomly add 50-300 to whatever i set it to, making it like a damn wrestling game with the stupid options.

I managed to wreck my hand playing this at the 'recommended' setting. For a couple of days my fingers and thumb were sore from the huge sweeping circles I had been doing :)

When calibrating the mouse, the best thing to do is to actually make very small and somewhat slow circles. Now if you'll play the game, you won't have to throw your mouse around to look like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥, but can do "normal-sized" circles to end up in a heavy circular motion of your uh, flying machine.
That's also good for heavy blows, which are harder to do with a higher calibration value.
