Anyone else see this connection?

In the graphics (Cel-shaded, though of subtler application in rage)?

In the icon?

(look at the encircled A)

In the vehicular combat?
In the savages (psychos)?
In the authority (Crimson Lance?)
All this especially in the latest trailer (after the meteor intro)?

All being pointed out, I'm still pumped for the story and gameplay~ Just wanted to see if anyone else here on steam has noted this?

An A in a circle/O is a generic symbol for Anarchy, so they're probably both drawing from a much older symbol in that case.

As for the rest - yeah, the comparison's been mentioned once or twice (or three millionce).

Yeah. Borderlands totally ripped off Rage. Seeing as how Rage was started something like 6 years ago (before borderlands existed on paper)....

Also, there's no cel-shading in Rage. That's quite a stretch there....

I agree. But the ripping off was not done too effectively.

The story turned to be too much of a garbage and the repetitiveness of enemies as well.

Plus the entire game is only looting, and that's it.No way will I ever bother myself to buy such a boring ♥♥♥ game that has nothing going for it at all.RAGE will do it much better.

Looking at some gameplay videos it does borrow from Borderlands heavily and other things like electrocuting enemies stood in water with an electo-crossbow bolt was straight out of Bioshock and possibly other games. It looks really nice but doesn't offer me anything new.

I hope reviews can prove me wrong.

Rage was in production long before borderlands. And your statement about not offering anything new is absurd. Fun gameplay is fun gameplay.

I said it doesn't offer anything new to ME, as I in I can't see any originality yet. I hope I am proved wrong by reviews etc.

sadly idiots/ignorants/haters will never understand this.

I am neither of these things and calling me an idiot goes against the boards TOU, so...

I am indifferent to this game (ask your teacher what that means) but I hope it is good, it looks nice.

Did I call you an idiot?OR better yet did I even mention your name?No I didn't from the looks of it.

You should not always think that the world revolves around you(ask your teacher about the meaning of that phrase).

Hey guys. Have you noticed orcs in World of Warcraft, Lord of the Rings, and Warhammer fantasy? Clearly they all rip off ewoks from Star Wars. I'm still excited for water being a conductor of electricity but I believe that rips off jarateed wives throwing plugged in radios into a bath full of water while their husband bathes.

*Insults people because I'm just a little, green guy behind this big keyboard*

hey there's this movie called "mad max".....................

i mean, I get what u are saying, but the chain of ripping-off goes back much further.

I blame the customers. The stingy, simpleton customers. :P (it's sarcasm, u know. cuz the industry - every industry - just works with formulas these days.)

sadly idiots/ignorants/haters will never understand this.

And sadly id will never push a product to market in a timely fashion again and instead be beaten repeatedly to the punch by other developers (Unreal Tournament with more content vs. Quake 3, Escape from Butcher Bay with a more advanced engine vs. Doom 3, Borderlands with the exact same premise and probably more replayability vs. Rage).

hey there's this movie called "mad max".....................

The anarchy symbol had nothing to do with Mad Max, nor was it cartoony, nor did it have a high-tech authority (also like Brotherhood of Steel and Enclave, btw)

That's quite a stretch there....

Yep, I've seen similar stretching before when folk are comparing games as well.

If there's one thing the game industry needs it's some innovation in the stretching when making criticisms.
