Just transferring this from steam general.
Its a bit annoying paying £11.99 for this when it unlocked and a few hours later its £9.99..
..whats that about?
Basically at 6pm(BST) the game became available to buy @£11.99.. Although the subtotal on the receipt says £9.99.
Had a little play.. 5 hours later and the store page says £9.99.
Any info on this?

Thanks for the heads up.
Also I'd like to say that this game is awesome, totally worth 11.99 or 9.99. Only 13 hours in and already sure I'll be spending alot more time enjoining SPAZ.

You are still better off paying in GBP for it than in Euro, because in euro it is 13.99 which equals 12.2642487 GBP, or 20.14 USD.

Yeah I noticed this too. A little annoying. It's only £2 though so no real biggie.
I emailed Steam support about it though.

Excellent game. I bought it on both GOG (for £7.50 with offer) and Steam (£9.99). Well worth every penny!

Hi All.
I talked to the Steam guys. If you use this link:

They should sort you out.

Thanks for the info, I had already got in touch with Steam support, just waiting for them to get back to me. Glad to hear they should be able to sort it out.
On a lighter note I'm loving the game, you guys did great work. Definitely worth £9.99 or £11.99

Also, a little unhappy about the price change. It's not a huge amount of money, but it is wrong to change it so quickly on release day. Raised a ticket... here is my response:
"Thank you for contacting Steam Support.
Unfortunately, our billing system is automated and we have no option to offer a partial refund on purchases or to add store credit to your account for the difference.
We apologize for any inconvenience, and appreciate your understanding."
So, I have just replied with:
"Can I have a full refund (of £11.99) and cancel then please? I will then decide myself whether or not re-purchase.
I know, it's not a large difference in value, but I'm not happy that it was reduced in price firstly on release day, and secondly less than two hours after purchase.
Thankyou."
I will post my response here. I'm not being petty, it's just the principle of it all. Totally unhappy with the first response there, Steam have usually been very helpful in my experience in the past, so fingers crossed.

I got the same response from Steam support as swedelong. But I'm not bothered really. I think it's still worth £12 :)

Interesting. Steam support just got back to me and said they'd refund me full price in store credit, which I can then use to re-buy the game at the reduced price. Seems strange that they responded differently to other people though.

Its interesting that I got fobbed off in a different way..
Hello David,
Thank you for contacting Steam Support.
Per the HM Revenue & Customs we must charge all individuals located in applicable areas Value Added Taxes with purchases made through Steam. Unfortunately, we will be unable to offer you exemption from VAT.
not sure what VAT has to do with it.. So do listed UK steam prices not include VAT now?
Don't get me wrong, its only 2 quid and I'm happy to support the developers. Its just this is coming across very strange.

Steam Support just refunded me £11.99 store credit, which I've now used to re-buy the game for £9.99. Thanks for all the help guys!

Right, got a reply from Steam eventually.....firstly I'd like to add that the developer (blorf) has been extremely helpful and generous in the entire matter. Big respect :D
So, Steam response:
As with most software products, we do not offer refunds or exchanges on games, DLC
or in-game items purchased on our website or through the Steam Client.
As a one-time customer service gesture we can issue you store credit for the amount
of your purchase into your Steam Wallet. The credit will also remove the title or
item from your account.
Please confirm that you would like us to proceed with this credit.
So, they will offer a refund, and I WILL repurchase the game. However, I'm not happy with the tone of the response. My reply:
Yes I would like a refund please.
Grateful as I am, I'd like to point out that this was YOUR error...
See this snippet from the invoice you sent:
"Space Pirates and Zombies(SPAZ): 11.99 GBP
Subtotal: 9.99 GBP
--------
Total: 11.99 GBP"
In short... I have been overcharged!
To call this a 'one-time gesture' feels a bit obtuse to me, I feel that an
apology and refund would have been the first thing you would have done,
not as a courtesy but as your duty to YOUR (faithful and fairly affluent
over the years) customer.
All I can say is, I think Steam is a great (the best) publisher, please
don't aggravate your customer base in this way.
I'd also like to add that the developer of this game has also been in
touch (almost immediately) and has been very, very helpful.
So, about to be resolved for me. Not moaning about the outcome. Certainly the developer has been exceptional in their support, I am just a bit irked at the way the refund has been begrudgingly agreed.
My rant over.

Actually mate, the 'sub-total' refers to the price before VAT is added, nothing more, so I think Steam have been pretty generous to sort it out. You weren't overcharged, you were just unlucky to have bought it before the price went down, same as me.

VAT @ 20%? That makes sense now. Still think Steam could have been a little more understanding. It doesn't change the fact that there was an error somewhere to begin with.
Looking forward to finally playing it!
