Smart move I think. After F1 2010 was released as what most called, a buggy mess. F1 2011 probably will be a good finished game. But sales will probably be hindered by those once bitten, twice shy, who boycott because of buggy 2010 or who got bored of the game quickly. I feel going Free to Play will be the best path going forward.

Overall, I hate the F2P model. But in this case, I think it was a matter of going F2P and continue game development. Don't go F2P and they would of stopped making F1 games for a few years.

Yep, that seems right...early 2012, slotted in between F1 2011 and F1 2012, which will probably make a welcome change; as we will all most likely be bored with F1 2011 by then! Trouble with F1 games is the lack of diversity...F1 is F1, you can't really change it from what it is. I am an F1 nut, but still get played out fairly quickly, except for GP4; which I never seem to get fed up with. I'm looking forward to this F2P; as there will be the running of your team to see to as well....

I'm figuring it is F1 2012 or 11 and 1/2 but with far fewer tracks, cars, etc.. and stuck in a browser in the F2P mode, and F1 2012 will probably be the whole shebang. Still a good idea.

I highly doubt it is an all original title. The timing of this news means they did just like F1 2010.. and decided to work on the next version before the previous version was even released. I wished they would for once wait till all the bugs are worked out before moving on.
