How does save works?

As per title.
does it use save points ? Or does the game automatically saves at the last place u visit. I got into the bastion. Then exit to menu and able to continue the game. But when i exit the game and restarted it, there was no option to continue, only new game.

And where is the save file stored?

The game will be saved automatically when you complete a level.

download the 3 installs from the FAQ here. Unfortunately he was not specific enough about autosave not working and achievements not working either. Only "Complication issues". That can be anything!
