Game lacks documentation specific to the demo and it's limitations?

What limitations are there for the demo other then it ending after a certain point?

I kept filling my experience bar over and over but never got a level up, is this a restriction specific to the demo?

Edit: Oh and I assume the demo doesn't actually save your progress.

Well, the level up won't help you much, since it only enables you to use one more spirit drink. Which you could get in the Bastion, but that requires a Core, which you can't get in the demo. So levelups are useless in the demo. That's the only limit, besides the demo ending when entering the skyway.

The demo doesn't save your progress or even your settings for that matter but otherwise it plays identically to the full game so far as I've played (which isn't actually that far).
