View Full Version : No Text on start screen

When I load the game I don't see and text at all. I hear sounds like I am moving something with my keys but no text. I currently am using eyefinity with a raedon 5890. This is very frustrating.

Try turning off save syncing on the ubisoft launcher settings panel.

Also having problems not seeing any text on what I'm assuming is the main menu. Vid card is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650, have attempted it with and without my TV connected to my laptop. Tried the fixes above but didn't solve the problem.

Try to run the game as administrator. That's the only way I can get the main menu to show up. Seems that this game has problems with Radeon cards in general (my laptop also has ATI video)

Sorry for being a noob, but how do I run the game as admin? Only way I know to launch a game purchased on Steam is through Steam's library, and there's no "run as admin" option through their UI.

Program Files > Steam > steamapps > common > from dust > From_Dust.exe, right click and select "run as administrator"

(this game runs outside of Steam)

There's apparently been a very recent update posted, this fixed the problem. Thanks for the help anyway.

I don't know what that update was for, but it didn't solve anything for me. I still get no text on the startup screen unless I run the game as administrator per my previous post.

Same issue on my end, even after the registry fix I can't get the menu to show up. Just confirms Ubisoft is garbage in my mind, I've been boycotting their games for a while now and only bought from dust because it looked like a fresh concept. Big mistake.

There was a Steam update that fixed this issue for me.

Did UBI even test this game on more than one setup?

It's almost 2 years on an I had the same problem. But it's fixed now.

Had to dump the local files from Steam. Re-install from scratch again. Run... and it was all gravy :)

Cool game... once you get into it.
