Hello everyone,
(First of all - get ready to pardon my (mostlikelytobe) flawed english exhibited throughout the following text .. I´m middle-european boy, so try to be kind ;)
(And the Second of all - the rant!:)
I did not pre-order this game, so I therefore haven´t played the demo yet, but from some HD videos I watched, it was clear that there is no dismemberment to be found.. Only exploding heads and mists of blood + splashy sound effects .. Not a single ork-orpse is really mutilated - in fact every limb remains in it´s "innate" position (on the ragdoll corpse) .. Which is highly unnatural in the world where the raging thousand-pound juggernaut attacks with a gigantic battle axe and recklessly splices everything up using motorized sawsword.. I think that in such a case every decent limb should (learn how to) fly! (we all have a dreams:)
I hate to see developers making such a stupid self-censored move after a proclaming that "there is lot of blood, lot of gore, limbs flying everywhere" (quoting animation lead of this title - Brent Breedveld - from their promotional ´Space Marine: Developer Diary #2 - Combat System´ video).
Where do You see those "aerial" limbs? Flying or laying around - rolling or trolling - there are simply none! (except for those securely attached to You and Your enemies)
Why did they choose to cut the cuting off the limbs?
Why - when this game has been ´M´ rated anyhow.
Why to cripple the outcome of an otherwise great (fluent, visceral) combat system with a such an idiotic self-emasculating design choice (after proud announcement of this feature.. after marketing it as "an advance dismemberment system")?
This is a clearly strange move.
Am I wrong on this one? Do You think, that in the final release this (unfortunately lost) feature will be possible to set up through an in-game menu of some sort? Or using patch, later on?
Am I the only one who is (to say the least, without cursing violently:) "not happy" about this?
Reactions are welcomed.
Nice weekend to all.
(uncensored, raw and fun - dismembered or not:)
P.S.:By the way - in the video called "Warhammer 40,000 : Space Marine - Official Developer Diary [HD]" You can clearly see the original dismemberment effects in it´s uncompromisingly uncut form .. The very exact way they were meant to (and still ´should´) be implemented.
