I'm doing/have done the tutorial (I guess?) and I think I must have skimmed over how to manage goons or crew, specifically the ones that enemies drop.

I know that you don't have a 100% success rate of converting crew, but my problem is what happens once you and the other ships on the field have full crew? Is there a way to dump them, in particular into the beacon so that the mothership can receive them, in turn so I can pick up (and try to convert) more crew members?

When I press "m", my AI ships jettison extra crew members to me, so there has to be some way to do so manually...

Surplus crew members will be delivered to the mothership when the ship that is carrying them is repaired or jumps to another location.
I haven't found a way to jettison them manually...

The only way is to repair the ship: it will drop off any excess goons if the mothership still has room.

There is however an order to jettison everyone except the captain of the ship, and large ships sometimes suffer hull breaches leaking goons and rez...

"Jettison Crew" with some sort of an amount selector really needs added. There are a LOT of battles where you get more goons than you can handle and they end up going to waste.

Since goons can be traded for both Rez and Data, this is a big shame.

As a SPAZ newbie, I'm not sure what the problem is. I don't see the point in getting rid of goons to get more goons unless I'm missing something...

Due to the games current approach to the mechanic, I think sending your ship to be repaired (refreshed) at the mothership should be the only way to drop goons.

If you want to justify crew pods being released to a mothership like resources, you better be near a beacon. Otherwise, telling your ship to repair is all you should be able to do. Crew limit is just like the Cargo limit.

EDIT: Also, since crew a full crew load does nothing but "help" there isn't a reason to adjust how many you want to eject. The current crew count can be altered in your Hanger.

The ships you pilot have a limited amount of pasagers they can carry, which tends to be quite a bit lower then the capacity that your flagship (clockwork) may have. As you gather goons they will be send to the flagship, based on the slider ratio you set for it.

"Getting rid" is actually more a matter of "Sending them to the flagship so you can pick up more". Goons are, besides from a help on ships, a form of currency as well after all.

Just repair your ship. Excess crew, and all cargo will be dropped aswell
