WTF: Banned weapons thread

I just wanted to point out something stupid I've noticed lately. There is an abundance of 24/7 Nuketown servers in demo. On almost all of these type of serves I've played, ballistic knife is banned. With all the over powered weapons that can be abused on Nuketown, the lowly ballistic knife is most hated. Can anyone explain this to me? The last server I had allowed tubes, huey, chopper, RPG, and dogs. All these things should be banned in Nuketown since all you have to do is spam to win, so why aren't these banned?

Also, I've noticed that the clan members can do whatever they want, but that is a different thread.

Well... if I had to have a guess why its because the most overpowered "weapon" in Black Ops is knifing. As silly as it sounds it's true and ballistic knife speeds up the knifing process.

Lunge still exists with ballistic knifes. They only fixed the lunge with normal knife :rolleyes:

Probably admins are getting owned often by a ballistic knife or they just don't want people running around the map messing. Who knows. If the server usually has many high ping players, those who have low ping usually use ballistic knife only and run around the map especially on nuketown since they got enough advantage already because of the ping. Plus, when you're just carrying a ballistic knife, your sprint is a little bit faster which adds more advantage especially when you combine it with Lightweight perk. If you're the one who's got high ping for example and you see someone 45 degrees on your right and he's about 2 meters away running towards you then you turn to aim at him, even if it may look as if you shot at him point blank, he's not yet hit and then you just die in less than a second. I usually get high ping sometimes so I know that. But I am not in agreement that the ballistic knife or any other weapon should be banned because they are part of the game and players should not complain or whine about any other player that uses the gun that they don't like.

It's sad to see servers banning FAMAS and AUG. On ranked servers you should be able to use any weapon you choose.

The reason ballistic knife is banned on nuketown, is due to its small size, it is really easy for people too become there own 'onlyusemeblade'. So original.

Why should they be unranked you can still rank up just as quick and easy with other weapons, i could understand if all weapons were banned but having just a few banned dont really effect how you rank up.

Ranked games is a section of BO multiplayer where we rank up according to the gameplay Treyarch has laid down. We bought the game and when we go on a ranked server, we expect to enjoy the gameplay whether we like certain aspects or not.

Banning even a few weapons, in my opinion, isn't acceptable since there is no effective system in place to ensure people do not use such weapons, let alone even EDUCATE people of the server rules. If the Server Owner really wants to have his/her customized version of Blops, thats what the modtools and unranked is for.

Also, banning swearing in a "M" rated game is hypocrisy. What does female gamers have to do with it anyways? Is it B***h? is that what causes her so much butthurt? I guess if swearing makes us immature, then I guess enforcing others to not say certain words because they are "bad" shows how classy and mature you really are.

Nothing is wrong in swearing in front of women. Women at my work does it pretty much every day and they are anything from 22 to 60 years old. You just sound like some old fashioned guy who feel the need to protect women from the most petty things in life which they are quite capable of themselves.

Exactly what is so awful about swears that they should be censored? Why should servers censor them just because a woman plays in the server? Swears are just words to help describe a strong feeling like anger but have sadly been labeled by so called "mature" people as inappropriate.

BEcause you can camp in your enemys base so easily with it. Just knife them when they are running through the doors. Works just as good with secondary and marathon pro/lightweight. plus you can shoot someone at a distance with your secondary if you need too.

Being happy to swear in the presence of men but not in the presence of women is sexist, because by doing this you imply that women are somehow more vulnerable than men, and need to be "protected" from bad language. If you are going to use impolite language around men, why not women? Swear words don't magically become more offensive when you say them to women.
