The demo gets a glowing endorsement from self-confessed W40k uber fan, Total Biscuit. He's literally giggling with glee in some parts. :)

That video is the perfect example of fanboyism for the source material clouding your judgement.

So you are the arbiter of objective quality of games then?

TotalBiscuit has always been a little biased, and regularly tells us his videos are not reviews - but 'first impressions'. He admits there are games he likes more than others.

If someone who likes 40k loves this game, is this not a good indicator for 40k fans? When do people stop expecting reviewers to act like robots with a checklist. Everyone has a taste and in reviews you mostly see if your taste and the one of the reviewer are the same.

There is no objectivity in testing games. Your feelings influence you always.

Good God, man, I've never heard him squeal so much over anything else. Looks like somebody will have to wash off all those hot sticky fluids off of the walls and the ceiling after TB is done.

Unless you are a robot, which admittedly few are.

No there is no objectivity in total, though you can be objective at least in part ("the stealth mechanic is balls but for people who like stealth..."). In any case it's clear, very, very clear, from the video that his love of the 40K universe is making him praise the game much more than he normally would. He even says so himself. That is all I was pointing out.

I agree. For a 40K fan, the game looks like it will live up to its own hype.

Those unfamiliar with the 40K universe might want to avoid this one at full price, as it looks like the action will quickly get repetitive. That being said, the 40K universe has the tagline of "There is only war", and the game certainly satisfies that criterion.

I have a very limited knowledge of the 40K universe, so I'll be passing on this one until it drops in price. For a fanboy like TotalBiscuit(and I only use the word here because he uses it to describe himself), the game presents true fan service.

I agree, but have a slight doubt that there's no Lightning Claws in the game.....lol

the mere fact that the very first fight leaves him "flabbergasted" goes to say it will be an awesome game, but the fact that 10mins later he starts squealing like a Hammer Legion Member lets you know thay have done this thing right!

Thank you, Relic.... thank you :D

EDIT: f a n b o y somehow translated to Hammer Legion Member?

hammer leagion member is a Valve inside joke, they use it to censor out the word f a n b o y.
