Is the game's premise of "Americans doing covert operations against their Russian allies during the Battle of Berlin" actually true, or is it one of those "alternate history" sort of things?

It says in the intro that the entire story is made up.

But based on actual events.

It may or may not have happened. :) It *could* have happened, as it does NOT contradict history. OSS was actually trying to prevent Russkies from getting their hands on the German scientists and German tech, albeit always covertly. Remember, OSS and MI6 helped sank that ship carrying heavy water in that Norwegian lake.

Based on actual events just means its in WW2, and areas afflicited by such, I would not draw the 'actual events' line as being to literal.

That was one of the better missions in Hidden & Dangerous 2. Now there's a game that needs a sequel.

This. Simply based a real war taking place and on a real location, but everything else is fictional.
