View Full Version : Can't launch Crysis 2 on new machine

Sorry to start a new thread for this but I had a quick Google and couldn't find any help.

Basically I just installed Crysis 2 on my new PC and it just fails to launch. I get the "Crysis 2 has stopped working" msg

I've restarted and verified cache. Got the newest ATI drivers. Do I need to patch it manually or something?

I know it'll be something simple that I'm just missing or forgot.

Win7 64bit

Sounds like a typical random crash problem. You got all the prerequisitions installed? Visual C++ 2008 and all that mojo-stuff? Updated DirectX? Windows fully updated? Et cetera.

Aaa could be my DirectX. I'll check now Cheers.

It seems it may have been my UAC settings. I just turned it off totally and Crysis 2 booted first time. I'm sure I'll have other probs though.

Cheers Aemony

Right sorry about this.

I had Crysis 2 working installed the DX11 and texture pack.

I was having a problem with Adobe Flash not playing any youtube vids which seemed to work when I turned off UAC.

I then cleared my recent history in Firefox and an Adobe User Agreement etc page I'd never seen before popped up.

I clicked Accept and then restarted my machine.

Now Steam won't even boot I get the same msg as earlier with Crysis2
And again no youtube or flash vids work.

I've reinstalled Flash and shockwave still no luck

I'm new to 64bit and was wondering is this a known issue or any ideas.

Thanks Guys
