You should be able to physically push players and objects. Walk up to them and press the 'use' key (or maybe a special push key) and push them 3-4 feet.
This could be used for moving objects around the map (rather than shooting at them).
On pubs a BIG use of this is to push other players out of the way. Namely, door blockers. Just give them a shove.
It's not going to hugely change the game, most of the time it's not going to matter, but it can add a little variety to the map.

Im not sure about pushing players, but pushing objects would be nice...i hate getting stuck in teh chair when im camping in cs_office like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥!

That would cause a lot of grief. People would just push other people out of cover. Or push people off a cliff. Actually this feature would be hilarious. Anyways I'd say create a delay in between pushes. Like 3 seconds, so people don't just spam the push button.

I agree that when you run touch a player, than judging by what velocity and what angle you ran into him, you transfer X% of your speed to him.
For example if you run into a player who is runing from your left to your right, you will give him 100% of your velocity, and he gets pushed to his right. If other player however is running at 45 degree angle into you, and you run full speed into him, than you transfer 50% of your speed to him. If both players run into each other in perfect angle - nothing happens.
Or there is a more simple way... There's a dotproduct function or something like that. Simply transfer all speed of that direction to an other player once touched.

It does allow you to deal with door blockers, though.

Yeah could be regulated by some sv's, how many seconds between pushes, and whether it's enabled.
Killing an enemy by pushing them off a cliff would be the ultimate humiliation, you could design maps that make it possible.
Wolfenstein ET had pushing, and there were a few maps where guys would camp these high locations and snipe down at people below. You could come up behind them and shove them to their death, it was hilarious.

I would just like for the barrels not to block me also all those damn entries and same things with players blocking me! Push would just cause everyone to use it to push the afk's into a corner as bait for campers.

I would like it to be a bit like how TF2 team collisions work. I think it would work well.

you can already push in most servers in CS:S just hold e on an object and jump.

I'd just want to have push enabled (sv_push 1) just so i can push xiao xiong over for creating this thread!.. j/k.. ;)..
naw.. i'd really prefer to have a weapon melee attack for every weapon.. so i could pistol whip an unsuspected quarry off a cliff.. that would be fun.. or they should implement some sort of stealth kills.

stuff like this officially built into the game would be great for zombie mod. Valve can disable it on their servers and have it off by default
Something like the crowbar push in TTT Gmod would be cool. It only pushes you like 1-1 1/2 feet, and cool down time of about 6-8 seconds.
object push is already a server variable in source sv_turbophysics 1 i used to run and play on servers that had it enabled, it also means to can jump onto barrels and things and you don't get that push back funny clip thing.

you know what would be really funny.. if you could pick people up and throw them like you could in goldeneye rogue agent (the worst bond game ever!).. lol.. and maybe cs could benefit from the use of some deathtraps scattered throughout the maps.. there's always that possibility.. [shrugs shoulders].. just sayin
Push would only work if it was like L4D in that, you can only push the enemy if they get too close or something. In L4D a push just animates the other player, it doesn't actually push them. Pushing teammates would lead to horrendous and unnecessary greifing.

When thinking of the benefits of your idea did you consider the cons? Well for starters I would love to watch you play the game with this idea and see someone run up and start pushing you while you're trying to shoot at someone and get you killed... over... and over again and again...

Overall I like the idea but not if it works on teammates. Too much potential for abuse. It could be a cool gameplay addition though if you can shove larger physics objects and also enemy players causing them to "stumble" (not in terms of l4d though where they lose aiming/weapon control but maybe just a movement modifier + a "screen jerk" and maybe low damage but nonlethal even at low health).
Another thing I'd like to be able to do is pick up and throw small physics objects like cans or small rocks to create sound diversions.

You can already push objects around with the Source Engine. Just place objects in the map when you make it. People can knock them around.
Pushing people? Stupid idea.
