The game in theory would be cool. But it's the ancient old version, max. Resolution of 1024 x ??? and at that resolution it runs so slow, a dia show would be smoother!

Sorry to have to say this but....For now, not worth they buy....was a waste of $9 for this thing! I hope they bother to fix this! :o

How about telling us which OS you're running, which CPU and GPU, video driver version, etc.?

Have you tried disabling desktop compositing, setting the game process to run on one core, etc.?

I tried both these suggestions and more. Neither cpu affinity or any compatibility settings seem to help.

Not only that, but I didn't realize it was an old game. When something like this shows up as a "New Release - Released Aug 26th, 2011" I feel like I'm being ripped off to find out it really came out in 2002. Coupled with the terrible performance problems, this is just a completre rip-off and waste of money. Avoid at all costs!

Trying to run it on Win7 (64bit) in all kinds of compatibility modes, no success.

CPU: intel i7 3.2GHz
RAM: 6GB
GPU: XFX Nvidia GTX 285, Driver Version: 280.26

My question would be, why release such old stuff on Steam, flagged as "new release" without making sure first, that it actually runs decently on contemporary machines!

it works perfectly for me... sure its pricey i agree with you there but I find the game fun and easy to get to...

I played it a few years back(2007 i think??), but i am surprised about about how well it worked..

yeah the graphic is bad when you zoom in, yeah it isn't the hardest game... if you can live with that... then I think you should buy---

btw... it says I played 5 hours and are about 22% into the game...

I bought this game for only two dollars at a Menards a couple years ago. It was fun but I wouldn't pay more than that.

Games are usually not that hard on easy, the difficulty you play it on judging from that other thread ;)

not that its super relevant but yeah... I do like to start games out on easy and then work my way to the top...

what I want to say here is that the length of the game is good, that I find it funny... and though its pricey, well you get a fairly good game.

It's not overprced, and they are looking into the lag problem. Now STFU and wait before making stupid assumptions

old classic games, i personally love the fact that u can buy some of the games from the old days.. now adays its all about graphics and textures, storylines suck, and are way too short on singleplayer levels..

Works perfect for me, too. Worked first time after install. Asus, all-in-one, I5 quad, Radeon HD6470. No compatibility, admin, affinity, or other changes needed. No slow downs on this or Amazon version. Installed both and there was no difference in speed, colors, game-play, etc. Great value. The game play is somewhat slow, but that is because all of these types of real-time strategic games are designed that way. Think Desperados/Commandos.
