Completing Space Marine install

So, when I try to launch the demo, I get the message "completing Space Marine install" (something like that) and it loads to 1%, I let it sit for a minute, and afterwards I get this (http://i54.tinypic.com/14c8g80.jpg). I've tried "install service" and nothing happens. It freezes forcing me to close steam through the task manager.

Anyone have experience with this? Any idea what to do?

try to install the service manually: find your steam/bin folder and run (as admin)
"steamservice.exe /install" or
"steamservice.exe /forceinstall" if you have xp.
this will take up to a few minutes.
after that you might need temporarily diable avast! shields to setup the demo (if you have that antivir sw).
