After seeing that there are TF2 items related to this game, I downloaded the demo. So far it looks interesting.
Anything else I should know before buying ?

Hey Bilateralrope
If you played the demo and liked it then I doubt you will be disappointed with the full version.
As for the addictiveness, it depends on your susceptibility for addictions. I myself am not addicted to SpaceChem although I do like it. (I know... denial...)

I tried the demo, and here are my thoughts:
- The music is amazing. Whether or not you like the game, download the soundtrack.
- From what little of the story I've seen, count me intrigued. I like the sci-fi atmosphere of it all.
- The gameplay. Oh, boy, the gameplay. The interface looks simple, but there are lots of things you can do. The puzzles can range from complex to convoluted, and oh ye gods I LOVE IT.
I don't have much money in my Steam Wallet, and there are other games I'm interested in (this is at the top of my wishlist, though), so I'm waiting until it goes on sale. >_< Fishcake will be a nice bonus.

There is one thing in the demo that could be an annoyance: The manually controlled switches in the last level. Even worse, the dozer moves so slow that I need to speed things up, which makes timing the switches harder.
Do later levels need anything more in terms of timing the button presses ?

There aren't very many levels that involve the manual switches (only the boss fight on each planet), and most of them only require you to change the switches a few times to beat the levels. Also, the actual combat mechanics in the boss stages tend to be pretty forgiving, and don't require perfect timing. Compared to the many hours you spend building the reactors, the few minutes you spend manually operating them are pretty negligible.

Either I get addicted to one game, or I spend more money buying others.
