That's it. I post it here, of course, because I have a preference for Skyrim.

I don't know why I am doing this thread. Maybe I need a push to pre-order it? xD

Yes, you should pre-order Skyrim instead of RAGE. Of course, you can pre-order RAGE too, but I recommend you to get Skyrim first.

Besides, Steamworks is confirmed for it!

Thanks! Finally, I decided to pre-order "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim"! :D

If You're Going To Pre-Order Might as be Retail.

Same price, SteamWorks, Extra's (http://www.gamesradar.com/skyrim-pre-order-bonus-is-a-premium-map/), Return Policy in case it's "not up to Code" and a Physical Copy.

Return it, and it may get your account suspended if you're really unlucky. At best, it'll just get removed from your account.

pre-order Rage and get Skyrim retail for the map.

Skyrim will probably be richer in content, so I'd go for Skyrim and save the rest of your money for the DLC's.

Yeah if you're a budget gamer on any level, Skyrim (or any TES/Fallout game for that matter) are no brainers.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that Rage will take between 20 and 40 hours. And while out on that limb, I'll also say that Skyrim will take 40-80 hours.

So as far as hours to dollars you're getting more for your money.

Also, replay value in a game like this is THROUGH.THE.ROOF you can replay with a reversed moral compass, totally different race/class, or traverse different areas of the world more heavily/lightly, depending on how much you missed the first time through.

Rage is sounding like a rather linear game so far. (Any word on non linear elements? Dialogue wheels?) Either way, singe player FPS's typically don't warrant repeat visits unless they are spiced up with RPG elements.

So yeah, consider it a more sound investment =P

On the RAGE main forums someone has a list of things known currently about RAGE and it seems that with 100% completion it is only 20hours long, with multiplayer consisting of Jak and Daxter combat racing style gameplay, and a co-op mode that from what I understand opens up more side quests.

All that factored in I would have to Say Skyrim even though it is a month later,it is a matter of do you feel like post apocalyptic dune buggy racing with guns, or killing dragons and exploring the world and lets not forget the community modders out there willing to indulge us with their creativity.

Alternatively if you ever played Demon's Souls it's spiritual successor Dark Souls is coming out on Oct 4 the same day as RAGE for the xbox360/ps3

RAGE: 20 hours, possibly 35 with another play-through and multiplayer, mod support will ship later with 64-bit version (quakecon). Due to megatexture tech, modding will be a lot harder.

Skyrim: Possibly 100 at minimum, much much more if you like side quests and exploring. Don't know about modding tools availability, but its going to be easier to mod than RAGE and as a sandbox game it will have more variety on mods themselves.

I'd say go for Skyrim, then pick up RAGE after few reviews and maybe a discount.

Why pre-order either? You're not getting a discount for pre-ordering.

Just wait an extra 10 minutes and watch a couple of reviews on the games and then decide where you want to drop 60 bucks!

What's with all this "I just gotta pre-order" thing. I understand if you're getting a deal or something, but when there's not even a discount it doesn't make a lick of sense.

I'm getting both to be honest.

Skyrim will have modding tools right out of the box. Rage does not (as far as I know).

Skyrim will not have multiplayer or co-op, but it's a game best explored on yourself.

The thing about pre-order is that you are guaranteed of a copy at release date (the exact minute even).

If you live in Europe, you sometimes have later release dates (3 days or so), so you can watch/read a lot of reviews and decide then.

Skyrim Modding Tools Might Come a bit Late According to howard.

We’re hoping [the Creation Kit/Mod Tools] will be available as a download on launch day. I don’t know if I can promise day-one, but it will be very close.

Rage is one of the games that is throwing warning signs my way.. kinda like duke numkem forever and dead island did.

I am personally going to avoid until I know it's solid.

That's if you buy retail... ordering and downloading on-line doesn't make much of a difference. And Steam messed up the release of Magic: The Gathering recent release where only those who did NOT pre-order were able to download at release (the rest of us who did pre-order had to wait hours for them to fix it).

Um i just preordered skyrim and its definitely worth it .. I had gotten about 300 hours in oblivion before i stopped playing it... I dont think rage will be that good to be honest... ID software is old and long forgotten and i fear its going to be overhyped like duke nukem forever was.

I guess that Skyrim will be very long to finish. unfortunately, I don't like to play one game over 50-60 hours to finish. it's too much. I don't actually have time to do. it will take year for me. so if I were you, I will go with Rage. Rage is really fit to me.
