Detoxification

The title says it all... I've tried reinstalling steam, and reinstalling CZ and 1.6. (This also happens on CS 1.6, but I play CZ more so I figured I'd post it in this forum) Also, when I play either game (I can only play multiplayer servers through Steam > View > Servers) and exit, my Steam freezes up and I have to end the task with Task Manager. Any ways I can fix either of these problems?
