Are there any plans to be able to make maps?

Currently no... that would be very difficult technically.

I would really really really consider throwing out the editor and sources relatively soon, regardless if it works or not! The Unreal modding community is big and there are a lot smart people out there who could take away a lot of work and get the game functional for custom maps. Especially since you already started working on your next game.

Sad to say, a game with great modding potential was Monday Night Combat (also UE3). I have at least 260 hours into that but it starts to die out (hundreds of servers at first). Simply because they promised and editor which never came, which is a shame!

Just my 2 cents.

A Mapeditor and Modsupport would be F-Wording incredible!

I wouldn't really care too much for a map editor as much as I'd care for a GOOD set of modding tools (*cough cough Call of Duty Black Ops, Civilization 5 cough cough*)

In the Unreal world, the Editor is all you need for modding... and the non-obfuscated code could be handy :D Or at least some information about classnames so we can extend them (we don't necessarily need the code for that to work).

Cbordeu, did the Ace team ever consider putting sonic the hedgehog-equse 360 loops and the like in RoA?

I Understand you probably figured from a gameplay perspective and it being 3D it might not work out. Still, it seems like an interesting idea. I would actually be very interested to see any early art/gameplay ideas that were thrown around if you plan to make them public.

Jup, Rock of Ages is a UE3 game. AFAIK Zeno Clash was Source, right?

Yes, ZC was Source, this one is running Unreal 3.

I think you can compare making maps in Rock of Ages to Demigod, rather than creating the maps in a map editor they're handcrafted.
