Cannot join server, hangs at 'Sending Client Info'

Hello all, I am admin'ing a CS:S server remotely, it is running on linux. After I installed the last patch, I am having a problem where when I try and join my server the steam client hangs on "Sending Client Info" - If I press escape and rejoin the server it will load, other people are having the same problem joining my server.. Any suggestions?
