The last beta patch literally took the game from painful, stuttering, and nearly an unplayable mess on low settings to being able to hit a solid smooth 60 fps on Ultra. I have to say the improvement is amazing, I never thought it was going get this much better before release.

I'm just downloading the release version now so as long as the last beta patch is anything to go by it should be smooth sailing.

I don't get all the complaints still coming in.

I didnt get as significant of a boost as you are reporting, but I have certainly noticed a difference. I'm averaging on 40fps with a mix of high/ultra settings with a 5870 card and Q6600 @3.10 ghz cpu. vsync enabled. its much better than the 15-20 I was getting a few days ago.

In averaging 50fps on all Ultra on enhanced on Gtx480 @ 850/1700/2050 (An overclocked GTX580 basically) and 1055T @ 3.45Ghz. I'm still trying to work at the game but it does seem rather...unoptimized. Other than sun shafts, nothing else seems to be graphically extraordinary to demand such resources. So Dunno :p

Although that frame thread lag option thingy does help oddly enough.

Me neither, pretty much everything was fixed for me. No crashes at all and no other really gamebreaking problems encountered at all.

I have a Q6600 at 3.4ghz with a Nvidia 8800GTS 512mb. Running everything on Medium with the exception of a few things (http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/596948515380135956/5706DBC0C7ED648D7AD4471EBBA32A0BFDADDC2E/) like you... and I'm getting between 45-65 fps.

Well for reference I been playing on i7 920 @ 4.2 Ghz 6GB Ram and a 5970 with both cores at 850/1200 (so essentially 2 5870s in CF).

To be honest I do have AA on low cos my monitor has quite a high pixel density and it doesn't really show aliasing too bad but thats it.

Xienen;866878']I don't know a whole lot about the performance side of the game(the guy sitting next to me does), but I do know that the reason that frame rate tanking and GPU utilization going down happen together is because there are too many Draw Calls in a number of situations and we're over using the Rendering Thread on the CPU. We have drastically reduced the number of Draw Calls in the worst cases, but we definitely haven't "fixed" the whole problem. We'll be continuing this process post release.
