First, yes I used the search function, beofre posting, didn't find my answer.
Here goes: I have 5.1mbit/800kbps, cable, with this upload I figure I can host around 10 players, is this right ?
Second question: What are the system requirement for 10 players ?
I'm thinking about buying a used pc to use as a dedicated server, so what should I get ? Is Pentium 3 enough ? RAM ? etc.

well, 3GB of RAM is alot....and gets expensive.....
*PIII would be fine.....
*I'd recommend around 512MB RAM (more would be better (1GB))
*dont need a good gfx card
*dont even 'need' a soundcard
*ATA / IDE whichever you'd prefer
*if you're hardcore into speed and stuff like that i'd get a HD which spins at 10k, but a 7200k is just fine
*make sure you have a well vented case and make sure temperatures are in the 'safe' range.....temp kills in all electronics....keep that in mind.....
my server;
win 2K3 server enterprise edition (ligit)
AMD Athlon 1800+ overclocked and stable at 2.4Ghz
512MB PC 2700 DDR 333Mhz
^runs just fine.....no probs whatsoever......
about the players......with that connection i'd do no more that about 12,,,,,,maybe even no more than 10....
hopefully this helps a lil
