Does anyone know if those of us who bought Skyrim on steam, will be able to start downloading the game, maybe a day or two in advance of the actual release?

I can imagine that if they only allow us to download on the 11th, that the download rate will slow down a lot. A pre-load might prevent that, or what ever its called :)

I've been wondering the same thing. I don't see why they wouldn't. But we most likely won't know until November. I hope they do.

Im pretty sure ( But cant confirm ) that they'll allow us to pre load it. They allowed it on New Vegas and Fallout 3.

Usually happens to major releases. So I'd bank on it.

As soon as the game goes gold, Bethesda will send a copy to Steam for review. (to assure it will be functional with the service) From there it depends on how long it takes Steam to do that, hopefully no longer than a week.

We're expecting the game to go gold around October 30th, so pre-loads should start anywhere between November 1st-7th. But again, these are just assumptions based off of previous releases.

Like it was with brink.
Just keep patience, i am sure if they don't allow pre-load, the servers will overload at release.

I'm glad to hear this :) Never knew Steam used to do this with major releases.
