My G27 don't seem to like this game, as far as FFB is concerned. Tried numerous settings but can't get a happy medium. Can't feel the road and tyres through the wheel at all; most of the time the car just seems to be floating over the track.
Any help would be gratefully received.

Yes, I would very much like to know. I can't stand how mine felt after the Patch of 2010 version. Don't even play anymore because of the "No grip" feeling after patch.

No rocket science as I ain't that clued up!.When I was playing F1 2010 I was using my Thrustmaster F430 wheel and the grip etc was really good. Since then I have bought a G27, because of all the raves about it as a wheel, but have not been blown away by it in comparison to the F430. In real sim's like Race07, rFactor, GP4 etc the G27 is perfect.
In F12011 I got the shock of my life, the wheel had a mind of it's own pulling to one side or the other and then FFB just vanishing on slow corners and the vibrations, stupid. Same in Shift2 and Shift when I tried it there (all Codemaster games) I ain't tried it in F1 2010.
So it was trial and error for me and I ended up with at least something that was ok to drive.
If you are a perfectionist, then the following settings may not satisfy your wants, as grip and FFB effects are mediocre to say the least...but I just wanted a car I could drive to play the game, until hopefully one or the other puts out a patch.

In game settings:
Steering deadzone 0%.
Steering saturation 5%.
Steering linearity 5%.
Throttle deadzone 0%.
Throttle saturation 10%.
Brake deadzone o%.
Brake saturation 20%.

Force feedback:
Enviromental effects 20%
Feedback strength 10%.
Wheel weight strength 10%.
Overide input device...steering wheel.

You can up the enviromental effects and get better FFB over curbs etc, but my wheel starts to shake itself to bits.
As I say it ain't perfect. Hope this helps.
I left the settings in the Logitech Profiler as they were, as most of my other racing games work well and I don't want to tempt fate.

Almost the same settings I use with my G25, the FFB was way too strong to begin with.

Steering linearity should be 0% though with a wheel. or at least very low. For some reason they seem to have got linearity back to front, ie 0% linearity is fully linear.

You can see the effect of 30% linearity in cockpit view while stationary, it reduces response quite severely near the centre (good for keyboard/controllers I guess).

I have changed a few of the settings bighair, little bit better on
the throttle and brakes and also FFB.

Yeah, have dropped the linearity to 5% and bumped up the enviromental to 20%, bit better FFB effects now. Still crap though to what I was getting with my F430 in 2010.

Pete, the preset profiles for the input devices are bugged. They give crappy FFB. Plus the pedals act more like on/off switches then pedals.

If you use a custom preset and define everything yourself, and do a override in the menu to steering wheel. Then it should be fine with the FFB and pedals. Also steering response seems better.

I own both a G25 and T500 RS. Same issue with both wheels. My FFB settings are standard 50%/100%/50%. And the wheel adv. settings are 0% all the way. For me it drives perfectly, but you can always adjust the FFB to your liking. Anyways... bugged input profiles :(

Yeah, hope they fix it...eventually got my wheel sort of ok; was going to put my old F430 up, no need now though.

Not sure of the exact settings I put for my G25 but I like some strong FFB and steering strenght to make it feel like you have to struggle with the car as it should be. Messsed with the steering saturation to decrease the sensitivity as well. Like was mentioned the braking and trottle can be like an off/on switch to begin with which is why I increased the deadzones to something like 15%. Feels brilliant now.

dunno if i can help other that when i play with all details maxed. as soon as cars get more than 20 feet away, they too look like they are floating. And ffb dont work at all with my thrustmaster wheel

My wheel now is spot on, pedals too, just carried on messing about till I got it as I like it. It's a mixture of all the suggestions (including my own)...thanks guys.

I use my G27 for rfactor, race07 and I just went with the default settings for this game and had no problems.

I get great FFB and feel of the wheels on the road. The only thing I did, which I do with all games, is give myself a 3% deadzone so I don't wobble when trying to drive a straight line.

Just got a g27.
Force feedback is too strong.

I'm an old GPLer and prefer feeling the steering.

This game feels awful with the g27 so far.

Need definitive g27 settings.
I heard spring and damper should always be on 0 percent.

Centre spring should be on 0 percent also.

It's the in game settings I am struggling with.

I'm used to GPL type force feedback.

No use comparing F1 2011 with GPL...they are just different ball games. GPL is the best racing sim' to be had on the PC; in my humble opinion. It is a superior driving feel to what you get in the codemaster outputs. I stopped playing F1 2011 and 2010, after about 3 or 4 months from purchase date. A massive let down. I stick with GPL and Race07 now, for my sim' racing.

This game I've given up on with the g27.
It' great fun with a gamepad.
Feels absoluitely ♥♥♥♥house with a g27.
The FFB is awful.

Even old sims like GP4 and GPL kill this game in FFB.

It's a pity because the game is very good and I'm sure it will be improved in thew next incarnation.
I really hope they improve the FFB as well as the other stuff.

P.S. Try the sim Netkar Pro and drive the KS2.
Now that's FFB! That car is amaaaazing.
They are bringing out a new sim which is looking mindblowing ,even looking better than project c.a.r.s. or Rfactor2 and they have a license with LOTUS!! so the sim will have all the Lotus cars, even that famous Lotus from GPL!!!!!!!

Keep trying everyone's settings.
Wheel clunks and clatters and vibrates.

Don't have the same problem with Iracing.

One 5 minute session in F1 2011 has me more fearful of breaking my G 27 than an all nighter in Iracing.

P.S. I had a f430 too Pete.
Felt great with F1 2010.
Maybe that game has better FFB?

That game is broken though.

Can't win lol.

At last I found a fix for this.

I found it on the nogrip website.
It says for F1 2010 but I put it in my F1 2011/Forcefeedback directory.
http://www.nogripracing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=230948
Post 10.
Register to get the file.
I just put it in F1 2011 to replace the original effectsetup.xml file that is in your F1 2011/forcefeedback directory.

I then set my wheel to 240 degrees rotation in my profiler,85 overall force feedback ,0 on all other settings and in game I have it set to 70 overall,10 environment FX,40 wheel weight. This works as good as I can get it for now.

P.S. I've read on forums that you need to set the brake deadzone to 2 for slipstreaming.
Is this correct or a myth?
