I downloaded rusty hearts off of steam but having the steam wrapper wrapped around Rusty hearts was just a big no-go on my system.

If you're having problems running the game from steam it's better if you just download the game directly and install it stand-alone from here:

I had issues with this game and steam and I couldn't be bothered to deal with steam's compatibility issues with launching games. Rusty hearts isn't the first game that annoyed the living crap out of me running it from stream.

If you find a game doesn't run properly from steam - and are tired of it downloading Visual C++ distributable files and direct X, etc... go to the game makers website and download the stand-alone version.

doing that right now.

Odd that is is also 3Gb lighter download wise. Guess it's that the dependencies being the users responsibility to install.

Also 3+ hours of download?!?!?!? Something tells me that Perfect world wasn't ready bandwidth wise for a steam launch.
