Was wondering if there are mods or upgrades to get Rome Total War to look better?

Let me clarify. I want a mod that does not touch anything about the game other than the graphics. Are there mods like that? I cant seem to find any.

No, not that i know of. Most mods consist of new and/or more historical correct units, larger maps, new buildings, cultures, etc.

roma sur♥♥♥♥♥♥ II is what your looking for

LOL at steam, Roma Surrec-tum hehe
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=386559

this is a great mod, almost everything about the game has been updated graphically,
far too many new things to mention, from the marian reforms, just loads.

to install, without errors do this...

install the mod to a new folder, anywhere, then apply the 2.1a patch
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=405358

navigate to your rome total war folder in steam there are instructions on the page.
then copy (dont drag) the whole mod into your rtw main folder overwriting everything.

go and delete the shortcut on the desktop, find the launcher.exe in the rtw/launcher/ folder and make a new shortcut, configure your game and use steams shortcut to launch the game.

if you get the animation error, navigate to your install folder and copy the rtw/data/animations/pak.dat file and paste it over the corrupt one.

enjoy

While you did a good job of outlining things, you didn't read the OP's 2 posts where he specifically said:

From the Total War forums description:

Roma Surr.ectum (meaning "Rome Arises") is a complete remake of the game, both graphically and in its gameplay. Improvements include a new economic system with hundreds of new buildings, an accurate and graphically improved campaign map, massively upgraded battlefield environments with more realistic custom-built vegetation, new factions, 28 unique Roman legions, and over 500 highly detailed and more historically accurate units.

While this is probably the closest he will get to a graphics mod, though, I myself am concerned about the gameplay changes that will be brought on by a new economic system and extra Roman units. Too bad modders didn't do just a graphical update for this game. Than again, I have Shogun 2 Total War, so if I want TW + nice graphics, I can just load it up.
