Just got to Monaco on my career and I run with the fuel simulation. While in P1, I did a test to see how fast my tires would deteriorate under full fuel load. Put on Super Soft tires did 21 laps. While in the run, I would slowly get quicker every lap as to be expected since I was burning off fuel but then after 12 or 13 laps, I was still getting faster. I went from 1:18.1xx to 1:17.5xx and then drop to around 1:18 even again and continued to run that even though I was still burning fuel and my tires were wearing. Went back into pits on lap 22 and tires were 16% but it seemed like I still had the grip on lap 2 or 3. Not sure if this is a bug or how it's supposed to be...
(It's not just Monaco either, did a race at Catalunya and went 42 laps on a set of prime tires and lost no time from lap 6 to lap 48. I would continue to gain on the leaders who had on fresh option tires.)

if you look after your tires i think that's how it works out i noticed i got a really long stint out of a set of primes

it shouldnt be working like that. The new pirreli tyres should have the so-called "Cliff" at a certain point of tyre-wear. Ofcourse you can get a long stint on primes cause they do in real too but eventually you'll loose time, if that is not working in game its clearly (yet another) bug..

Anybody watch the Monaco race this year and see Vettel win.
Perfect example of pushing it to the limit. He did 40+ laps on a
set of primes and won the race as a result. EPIC!

I've watched as many races as I could. Usually wake up early to catch them live and Vettel is just a god this year.

Just a question - where does it tell you that you have 16% tyre condition left during a race?

It was during the race, first practice.

erm..are you sure tyre simulation is switched on? I can only do a few laps on super-soft before I feel a loss of grip and have to start slowing down.
In every career race I've done so far, during the lap where I have to come in to pit, I have to be really careful not to spin. It's happened a few times when I tried to push it. Tyres seem to be working as expected for me, so I'm not sure what's going on in your game.

What are your race-lenghts? Tyres use up more quickly even in training and quallyfying, if it's set to things like 20%.
So: set it to 100% while training and quallyfyng. Before race go back to main menue, career, start the race and chooce your desired race-lenghts this time.

If you play in hard or Expert, tire and fuel simulation do have
an affect on your vehicle. I learned the hard way. I tried to get
some extra laps(2 laps more than the suggested pit) on my softs
and ended up getting a puncture. Also I was using the rich fuel
mixture even after my engineer told to me to switch to lean to
conserve fuel and ended up running out of fuel on the last lap of
the race. So yeah watch your fuel and tires!

I race 100% distance with tire/fuel simulation on. That's what the tires looked like after 20 laps and a full fuel load. Wanted to see deterioration with full fuel to see how long I could go on a set of options. When I got to the race, it said that after 10 laps, my tires would be too worn out to use when I was doing the strategy.
