Try again. It works for me. If it was removed you would receive a different message, probably "Oops, the page you are trying access is not available in your region." Or something along those lines.

Yep, this error.

Looks like ID hates my region. No issues with other games.

Oh that's not a 404, that's the result of region restrictions. I'm sure somebody from your area (the Baltic states) mentioned this a while ago.

Don't mention about pirating games. Real minefield and they'll ban you from the forums within a blink of an eye.

Unknown. It's Bethesda's decision unfortunately. It could have something to do with your local retail stores applying pressure on Bethesda to pull the digital distribution rights to the game from your region to avoid competition.

It's a steamworks game so it'll be here doesn't matter where you buy it from.

not available in Czech rep.either. Same as Skyrim btw. But both are normally offered in retails here, so it's only Steam mess up. Not some regional cenzorship.

oh, it does! :) You buy it from other country and steam will say it will not activate. Regional restrictions are in place even for Steamworks games. Publisher does that. Not steam as each game has different regions.

A bunch of East-European countries are apparently blocked from RAGE. Is it possible that the so called infamous 1C Company is publishing there?

Yeah, it's there. My guess is that it is a regional issue where it might not be offered in your region.

Could it be that Retail stores there threatened the company to not sell their games if they sold their game on Steam in that country?

There was something similar with a game that would come out in UK. But it wasn't available on Steam in that country. But other countries in Europe sold it on Steam.

Hopefully it's not completely banned due to fear mongering about the game being a bit brutal or so.

it is not just unbuyable (like some others), it is completely unavailable. How it could be steamworks game (and skyrim too :) )? I really don't want to be stucked with my bought CD-KEY and steam "not available to activate in your region" again.

Poland here and exactly same problem... I am starting to have doubts that RAGE will actually be Steam game in my region since it is just 4 days from official release (07-09-2011). Pre-sellers aren't even mentioning Steam to be required - should this count as some kind of a sign?

Now what. I have retail version. CD key I use on Steam. Game is only in preload status. Store write - game is not avaialable in your region. That s****.

I am from Czech republic and got Rage from other country and it activated just fine for me.
We are part of EU and you are allowed to buy from any EU country without exceptions. Its actually against EU law to refuse sell to any EU member.

What we are talking here is that distributors may have exclusive rights to sell there (steam is not allowed to sell in that region), but you can allways buy it elsewhere.

This might not apply to all countries, but it does for EU.

I didn't know the game would be restricted to certain states in the EU on Steam. Guess it's time to order a retail copy from the UK. I'm too defiant to buy from a local retailer. If this also true to Skyrim then I'll have to pre-order a copy as well. How lame. Screw everyone.

Yeah, it will not be available. In the future, you and others can check if a game is already made available in other countries by going first to http://store.steampowered.com/?cc=uk or us instead of the regular http://store.steampowered.com/ page. Then it will list the games in that country.
