View Full Version : Origin: UK storefront for Saudi?

Greetings.

I am a Battlefield player living in Saudi. I have just registered a new EA account for Origin (because my old one is not working, as it always did with the EA site) and logged in. For some reason, the storefront I see here is the UK version instead of the US/international. This is wrong, I live outside the UK and I am not responsible for paying 30% for their taxes. BF3 is about 20$ more expensive on the UK store.

What should I do? Any ideas? Any solutions?

You can try to contact their Support if they can help you.

You can buy it from multiple sources. How high are US and UK prices on Origin anyway? GamersGate sells it for $53.95 on US shop and for £34.95 on UK shop - that's almost the same price.

Really funny, the Origin store has no region settings, Chrome opens the NA version and the Origin app opens the UK version, I can't switch to anything else!

GameStop/Impulse won't allow me to buy the game because it's unavailable in my region.

On GamersGate there are no search results for Battlefield 3, I guess it's unavailable.

So, do I guess EA forgot that the Middle East existed? What do you suggest? What happens if I buy from NA Origin? The ♥♥♥♥♥♥ doesn't restrict me, I can login and buy, I'll just have to pay the damn tax. In another scenario, if a friend of mine in NA buys it for me, would it be possible for me to login and play normally from where I am?

PS - Bought from Europe's Origin.

I think I confused the Euro sign with the Pound sign because what I see now is the Euro sign. The browser suddenly stopped displaying the US page and started displaying the European as the application did and is still doing. I figured out that this is the official store for my region. When entering billing info, the country choice was international (unlike the US store's option of US and Canada only).

Even though it's frustrating, I had to pay additional 7.5$.

I feel your pain buddy, here in China it's the same European storefront for us, used to be HongKong but now it's all Euro zone, wth is that? We can't even make any purchases by ourselves as we obviously don't have access to european credit cards:o Anyway don't worry, EA is not like Valve, just ask any friends of yours to buy whatever you want from their regions as they probably won't have to pay for any BS taxes and I'm pretty sure you won't get banned or some:cool:
