This is an ARCADE game, with real life cars.

Almost every car has a 0-60 in under 8 seconds, the acceleration is arcade like and they in no way represent their real life counterparts.

The developers did their best to give vehicles their own unique center of gravity and handling lines. A Cadillac will roll from lane to lane like the giant boat it is, while an Audi is perfect for cutting through traffic.

Police vehicles are scaled to keep up with vehicle you're in, which isn't good when you need to make an escape in a compact and that police SUV battering ram is after you. Drifting and sliding is way overdone, cars behave like they are on ice when you pull the parking brake.

The first person view seems to be half-done, while the speedometers are correct and tanner's hands are incredibly interactive the dash lights never change and several other gauges never change. You're always in [D] for drive even if you're backing up. Anything on the dash that's not RPM or Speedometer does not function as anything except a static graphic. However the developers do get bonus points for having tanner actually use the gear stick shifter on the wheel of automatic vehicles, and paddle-shifts behind the wheel in some sports cars.

The voice acting is more fitting for a 70's style movie, same with the majority of the story music. It just doesn't fit in a modern day game.

The shift mechanic is done flawlessly since it's one of a kind at the moment, but it just leaves the player wanting more. No out of vehicle experience just doesn't feel right, this is especially apparent during free-roam. Having access to any car you can see quickly stagnates the replay-value of the game in the same way any "ultimate unlock everything cheat" would.

I am currently having trouble re-binding keys, although I control with mouse keyboard the options menu shows 360 buttons mapped to my keys. Re-binding is impossible as of right now, which can be a real problem. Driving is done with the arrow keys, view control (look left, look right, look back) is done with WASD, and when you shift (shift key lawl) out of your vehicle you are left to control with the mouse. Seems like knit picking, but it does get sloppy during high speed chases, you lose your first seconds of control moving your hand from mouse to keyboard after shifting into a new vehicle.

Wow, wishing I could play. In my region (Europe, Germany) the game isn't available yet.

I think the shifting is way better than navigating the city on foot. That was really clunky in the past. The e-brake isn't for drifting. It's more for 180s. The handling feels like a more arcadey version of the original Driver.
