They got it because that was clearly the intended release date and they will have received earlier publicity informing them. That doesn't mean that it's sticks. If something has gone wrong then you wouldn't see them all altering the date unless they are officially informed that it has been - and that wouldn't necessarily be immediate. Yes we don't know but I take no notice of other sites. It's always the horses mouth for me.

I got a bit disappointed when I saw that they changed their site. Although if we're really lucky they only postponed the PSN release date and not for the PC and chose to change it to "October" only and not two different dates.

After all, Dungeon Defenders was gonna get released on all three platforms at the same time, although only PC and XBLA got their dates confirmed. PSN is still TBA.

I wouldn't claim the prize until the bet's over homeslice. IF the game is delayed on PSN, that could be your smoking gun for the vague "October" release now on the official website.

And the fact that the official page changed it on the 3rd doesnt give you a clue that all the other websites might have outdated info? /facepalm
Anyways, theres no pre-download, no date anymore, and no communication, not even a representative went into the forum, wich is odd, since this is the only official forum plus the game requires Steam (pc version) to work...

thats how it was for me... on release... couldnt play at all, servers were all laggy... then they patched it, i could play, a little bit of lagginess choppines, but i could play, then they patched a bit more and it got worse, i got bored of it, then i tried it few months ago again, still lags like ♥♥♥♥, ♥♥♥♥ty performance, so its unistalled for good

i will really strongly consider if i will buy this new COD... im 10000% sure that it wont be on release day, because it will most likely be disaster again, i will read few posts on forum, if its good, or its not, and then decide

im definitely getting BF3 on release date though... i just like the idea of having beta, and fixing all bugs prior to release... you will never see that in COD... they are only in for the money...

Those titles can't exactly be tagged as "Rushed". You may seem them as lacking due to the fact that they all have long prequels, not to mention the over-production of FPS'es in the entertainment industry as of now.

A truly rushed game is where they need to cut a specific title short due to lack of funding. Not because of an early release date or its origin from a console.

Might be due to RAGE since the game comes out this week.

This has been alluded to elsewhere. I think it's possible but I don't know really. Rage will get a billboard release on Steam and maybe Payday can get one as well ... but only if they delay of course. I'm just musing here btw - don't anyone start debating it with me cos I don't give a fork... (it's just hypothetical crap from being bored). Also going up against a big title on release day isn't necessarily the best idea I suppose. Only thing is I decided to postpone buying Rage cos this was slated for the 4th. I reckoned I'd have more time to check out reviews for Rage as well in case it's cack... ah nm.

A truly rushed game is where they need to cut a specific title short due to lack of funding. Not because of an early release date or its origin from a console.

Actually, you're wrong. An example of a "rushed" game is Magicka. If you've played it, you know why. If not, then here's a few reasons why it was "rushed":

* It was made for multiplayer co-op, but the game crashed at a specific level if you did play MP (for everyone, no exceptions). *This is fixed but was there at release*
* Players are invisible for at least one of the group (of four), although they're still alive and killing enemies.
* Players pick up weapons, but those are still on the ground. Nobody else can pick them up.
* When playing PVP, a melee weapon can kill another character from far, far away (without using magicks).
* You're unable to revive your teammates.
* You're unable to create a shield on yourself.

Alright, I won't go on anymore. But I will say this - the developers also said they knew about a lot of bugs, but their publisher still published their game. Even though they was still working on it. The developers didn't even know about it until later. It didn't have anything to do with funding. So please stop acting like you know what you're talking about - you're clearly not.

Exactly. A "rushed" game has nothing to do with lack of funding. It's all about if it's released before it's truly finished.

There are also lots of games out there (on Steam and otherwise) that didn't have any funding at all. Many of those games were "complete" and not "rushed". So no, "lack of funding" has nothing to do with a game being "rushed" or not.

Well I think it's a poor reflection on the devs that this happened. I'm still confident in the product but they have disappointed a whole bunch of people and not spoken directly to the PC players which makes me feel like they just took the p*ss. Change the date if you must but have some respect for ppl who put faith in you and give you their money in advance. Have the decency to address them directly. Not a rant - just a tired complaint tbh. Think I might go and buy Rage now - coulda pre-loaded the thing if these devs had let me know earlier they were gonna switch off the release. They shagged me over good and proper with this charade.

If you view the "Coming Soon" list on steam store page...its listed after Rage but prior to Disciples 3 Expansion which has a release date of Oct. 7th.

So.... perhaps the PC will still hit its just the PS3 version delayed.
