A question about the ranks

I'm not sure I understand the rankings. On replaying the earlier levels I'm getting 'A's and even sometimes an 'S', but on the main menu, where I choose a level, many of the levels I got 'A's on are still showing as a C or D i.e. what I set on my first playthrough.

The thing is, I just completed Level 45, but can't access the last three. I'm assuming I need either all the prisms or better rankings from the previous levels. Prisms, no problem, I can get those, but if my rankings are stuck at lowly Cs and Ds... What am I doing wrong?

It's prisms so don't worry. No idea why your rankings aren't updating, mine seem to work fine :s

Yup, just got all the prisms and 46 became available (that last prism on Speedrun 2 was the monster!).

My rankings are still low though. It seems I can't just run from start to exit and get an A, I have to grab all the prisms for the rank to replace the old one. For example, I can do Level 3, Playground, in about 19 seconds and for that I get an A. But the scoreboard shows I have a C with a time of 1.09mins, which was when I got all the prisms. The time of 19 seconds does not overwrite it. I thought it would. The instructions say I only need to get all the prisms in superquick time when I want to get an S rank.
