Just from what i read on here sounds like a bunch of school kids. It's just a game and is delayed, not the end of life you know. There are people in this world with real problems so maybe just all relax and put things in perspective.

Amen good sir! After numerous times where games have been delayed or released broken, you'd think people would have learnt that release dates are only a rough idea. :D

I would consider cutting them slack on delaying release if it was for bugs. But this game is finished and finalized. All they are doing is delaying it so they get a front page release and let all the buzz from RAGE finally die down. It's bull♥♥♥♥ they pushed it just because of a big name release. I bought this over RAGE and would any other day. ♥♥♥♥ you, publishers. You ruin movies and video games.
I still don't know how people can't see the reason for the delay is because RAGE is being released on the exact same day. I saw it coming when I first saw the release date.

So you are quite certain that SOE would pull a stunt like that hours before it will release? I dont think so, so calm down. Otherwise we might call you a case of Rage. (not funny i know)

I don't think he was being a fan boy. Yes I was pissed when I noticed they changed the release date but like he said it's just a game. I got tons of other games I can play in the mean time as well as most other people on this forum probably has other games that they can play in the mean time also.
But yes sometimes complaining works but there's times where complaining absolutely does nothing. In this case I guess we'll see but don't think it will help to much as the release is being done by Sony and we all know how they are. Sony has always been pushing release dates. No one said life is fair and this is one of those unfair moments.

OP is well in his right.
Once you have a mortgage, loans, family, a social life, disease, illness or any of the other million important things in life, a delayed game is the last thing that is going to piss in your cheerios.
I might be only 26, but I'll be god damned if the age gap isn't obvious on here by the tone and demeanor of the kids posting. Wondering if most the refund crowd has their mommy and/or daddy put $60 in their steam account so they can buy games...

The same people who complain about a delay will be the same people who complain about an unfinished game.
I just want to point out that, Logically, The people to complain about a delay want the game ASAP as opposed to people who complain about an unfinished game, because they would prefer the game to be delayed.
In other words, they are not the same people.
This is like saying "The people who are sad of Micheal Jackson's death are the same people who were calling him a pedophile and wanted him to burn."
Its extremely illogical, and makes no sense...

I agree to an extent, of course they knew those of us who cared about the game would complain about the delayed release. The biggest eff you to us came in not telling us until it the day of/day before.

People expect their TV shows to be on at the scheduled times. They expect subscriptions to come in the advertised timeframe. They expect buses/trains/planes to arrive at approximately the listed time. They expect prompt and timely service at a restaurant.
Why is it suddenly wrong to expect the publisher to release the game you paid for on time?

Developers,publishers & steam See above.
As paying customers all we can expect & ask of you is to have the common courtesy to keep us informed of any delays no matter how sudden or unexpected they are,it makes for good relations between us.
Choosing not to release any info on the delay of the game is questionable at the least but never mind i'm sure it will be along soon bug free!It is available now according to the store page but we all know that it's not.Steam playing catch up or do they know more than they are letting on.
Silence is not what we want or need, just a quick post, nothing fancy just a few lines telling us what is happening regarding the delay.
Not too much to ask.

Kind of disagree. It's funny but the same people that would want it right now would complain if it had bugs. That's just the nature of the beast. Release a game with bugs ? Should have been delayed, it's crap. Delay a release to fix bugs and you're an idiot team that can't dev for crap.

Who are you to say people can't be angry about a delay? You pay for a product, you expect that product to arrive in the time and condition promised. If you don't get it or it comes significantly different from what was promised, you SHOULD be angry. In fact, if that doesn't make you angry I'd say there is something wrong with YOU, not the other way around.
Now, is it dumb to express rage and loathing that the game got delayed a few days? That would be something you could argue. Is it dumb to be angry in general? Not in the slightest.

Why should I be angry? I paid for the game but if it gets delayed for a little bit I'm not going to cry and beg for attention like you. I have a life, and if a game gets delayed I definitely don't lose any sleep over it. Yeah, it's annoying but, LOL... It's a GAME.

Alright.
See that food you ordered? Actually delayed by 3 hours. Sorry bro, just deal with it!
Those shiny new things you kids like to play with? Delivery has been cancelled to next month...deal with it.
Why is it ok to complain about the above and not publishers delaying games. Go ahead, you won't be able to formulate a decent argument.

Good thing a game isn't food then! At least with a game, I can patiently wait without starving to death. It is just a game after all.

I've had cases where food took a while to get to me and I still didn't throw a fit like you are. Like I said, annoying but not a big deal and I don't complain and whine about every little inconvenience in life.
IT'S A VIDEO GAME. If you don't like it, cancel your preorder and leave the forum because NO ONE cares about you or anyone else that cancels because of a delay. (Of course they will end up buying it again anyway in the near-future.)
I know you've experienced little life outside of the computer but let me explain something to you, things like this WILL and DO happen. Crying and throwing a fit like you are will not achieve anything. I know a GENIUS like yourself would rather have Dead Island 2.0 but the big boys want to actually play a game that WORKS.
Oh look I destroyed your petty little argument without even trying, ZzZzZzZzZzZz.

Well...yes. I'm not saying don't complain if your unhappy with a service you've paid for, but do try to have a measured response. The devs seem like intelligent, reasonable people (and from all accounts quite friendly even). So just try to complain politely at least in direct correspondence with the devs.
On the other hand a certain level of childishness has to be tollerated from children posting anonymously. Best to try and not get sucked into an argument.
Can't we all just get along?

I'm pretty sure the reason they didn't release information immediately is because they were trying to fix it before too many people noticed, and just roll the content right onto steam as if nothing had happened, which would have made everyone happy.
But then they realized they couldn't fix it that quickly and then released a public statement saying there would be a (small) delay, which is exactly what I would have done in their situation.
I'm not mad at all, although I would like to know how MUCH of a problem there is (specific information would be nice, although they may not be able to do this because of publisher restricted confidentiality on PSN's part) so I know whether to expect it two days from now or two weeks from now.
Things like this make me sad, it sounds like they want a broken version:
See that food you ordered? Actually delayed by 3 hours. Sorry bro, just deal with it
Would you rather they spend 15 mintues to make you more food (for FREE TOO!) or eat the burned/mangled mess that they were going to serve you? If you pick the second on you're just being stubborn and arrgoant because we both know 15 minutes won't kill you.
Also, if you compared food preparation time to the game's creation time, it would be like having a wait time of one minute or LESS, not three hours.
(2 weeks max divided by 80 weeks production = 5%, 5% of 20 minutes food creation is 1 minute and I was being generous on how long it took to make that food.)

Real mature kid.
Look, all I said was that being angry about a delay is a perfectly rational reaction. Again, going totally nuts about it and flipping tables... not rational. Being upset enough to state that you are unhappy and maybe even cancelling your pre-order to get the message across (money talks) makes sense. Remember: these people worked hard to earn their money; who are you to decide how they should spend it?
Now go sit down in the corner before you hurt yourself by being so damned stupid.
