Hey guys! Not sure where else to ask, but I was wondering if it was possible to purchase skyrim at a brick and mortar store, and use the cd key in that (not to mention saving me from downloading it) with steam, so that Skyrim is attached to my steam account?

I've done this on a bunch of other games, and I just wanted to know if I could do this with Skyrim, as I'd like some of the cool things EB Games is offering, but I'd still want the game on my steam account.

Thanks!~

Oh it is confirmed to be steamworks? Last I read they just said it won't be games for windows live, I've noticed that a lot of collector additios don't like to activate on steam if its non-steam.

it was said on twitter, that Skyrim will support steamworks. This doesn't neccessary mean it will be steamworks only. But after declaration they will use DRM from steamworks, it is 95% it needs steamworks and no other version will exist. However direct confirmation I haven't found. My retailers don't want to confirm it and even steam support doesn't confirmed that directly.

I most likely won't pre-order this game but will buy it. I'd prefer to buy the physical copy because it's bound to come with a cool map or something, which is something I miss buying games from steam.

Cloth map = pre order >_>
