Blitzing and sponsorship

Just got this a few days back, and really enjoying it. Made myself a crib sheet of the dice roll tables and it's helped a lot in seeing how hard an action is before I take it!

Anyway, a couple of points I can't see answered in the manual:

Blitzing - According to the manual, you can make the block at any point during the blitz, but I can't find a way to blitz when you're already on the square n ext to your target. Pretty sure I've seen the AI achieve it though...
Any tips on that?

Sponsorship - I just can't work out how this works at all. I'm in my third competition, but nothing has happened. When does it get paid? What do you have to do to achieve it?

Blitzing has a button in one of the corners that you need to press to activate. Then you can move your guy around as usually, and when he is standing next to someone, hit that guy.

Another way of doing it, is when a player is selected, clicking on an opposing player, you will have started a blitz action. After he hits the other player, you can continue to move him if you'd like.

I don't think I've explained myself properly - what if I want to blitz, but the block part of it comes before any movement? I.e. block with a movement afterwards, but not before?

Along the right side of the screen you'll see a list of icons. In that list is a lightning bolt. If you click on that it will start the blitz action. Block the person your standing next to, then move.

I think hitting B works too.
