I wanted this game for quite awhile. But Steam prices haven't been dropped till now.

Just wondering if I buy this on origin, can I activate it on steam and use steam instead? At least steam got file checking facility in case I got the game corrupted or something.

Or does the origin version are standalone, without any additional software (just activation) like steam?

To my knowledge, the only way to get it to work on Steam is to buy it on Steam. If you buy it from Origin, you will have to use Origin. It is not a Steamworks game.

You need to use the Origin manager.

I dl'd the $29 'special' Alice from Origin (OCT2011)for my PC but the game is still buggy when it comes to saving the settings. Same complaint others had back in June 2011. Still no patch from EA or Spicey Horse.

Runs fine, beautiful graphics, amazing sound.
But the game would not auto save, or save the keybindings, or save ANYTHING to do with the configuration (mouse speed, gama etc etc)

Really a shame :( because what I was able to play really was sweeet!
Sadly though I gave up and got my money back from Origin/Digitalriver. Game was just not worth the hassles. Hope others fair better..

I own the "Complete Collection" through Origin because that was the only place where it was available from and even then only for a short period of time. Love the new game and would have got it on Steam but Origin was the only place I could get a digital copy of the first Alice. So few good platformers anymore and I got 2 out of the deal.

The game from Origin is not activate-able on Steam. If you want Steam's goodies you will have to buy it through Steam. Though you could add it to your library at least as a non Steam game.

Hopefully one day the original game will be available as DLC on both Origin and Steam so those that want it can get it and I'll pick up both again on Steam. Verifying is so much less trouble than redownloadeding the whole game when something get borked or you have todo a OS redo.;) This is where Origin fails. No file checking and repair ability. Other than that got no issues with them so far with my one whole Origin game.:D:D

PS: As far as I know Origin is not required to run the game if bought from Origin. I just fired up the game from the Game Explorer Game Icon and Origin did not load but the game came up and played.

Like 34,31$. Really funny. Double price, same game. I'll pass. In this case is not 1=1$, this time is 1$=2. LOL.
