When I talk to my friends over the internet and through Steam chat I get a lot of complaints about the quality of my mic. I'm looking at new headsets so I've come to ask about which ones the gaming community reccom

i just picked up a logitech g930 and i really like it. took a bit of finagling to get a quick way to move audio between the headset and my speakers - but thats a limitation to windows and multiple audio devices. the product itself is flawless. just over $100 on newegg and i couldn't be happier.

I am currently using the Logitech G35, and it's awesome. Friends say I got rid of the giant waterfall they hear on the background and that it's a clear sound now. The 7.1 surround is pretty good as well, it really gives me an advantage in games like Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Team Fortress 2. Maybe even more in TF2, because it has less ambient sounds.
If you don't mind paying the price, this is a headset featuring a good mic and full surround sound you can't go wrong with.
