I am hoping on something multiplayerish. Will there be any multiplayer like what was once on 2011? I didn't get to play 2011 when it had multiplayer. Will it have any gaming mechanics revolving around multiplayer?
I will buy it if it has a 50% or more price cut. I don't think I want a game that is strictly single player.

No multi player but if you already have 2011 (which it sounds like you do) it already has more than 50% off. More than 60% in fact. :)

It hasn't had multiplayerish gameplay since the original game, 2011 never had it, and 2012 won't have it, and to be honest, I don't think any future versions will have it unless Focus pulls their act together and gets a dedicated team of developers to do something to the game besides add more buildings and maps. Even then it's not likely to have it and repeat it's earlier blunder with multiplayer seeing how it was a failure and likely what brought MC down to begin with.

Well I guess when I have a lot of money I will try to do what Focus has failed to do. Multiplayer was probably one of the only things I really cared about. I will still get the game. I have it in my wish list, despite all the problems people have listed from this game. I will buy it when it is 50-60% off. I uninstalled the game long ago so that makes me unqualified for the newest version. Single player was really easy, no riots, no economic depressions. I mean I could build 60-100 houses without any repercussions at all and then build some environmentally unfriendly power plant near them and they wouldn't get sick or start dying.

I no longer have the game in my possession, ergo I cannot upgrade.

I feel the same way, I was really intrigued by the multiplayer aspect of Cities, where you can exchange produced goods etc. 2013 pls?

I just recieved the email coupon for 50% off of cities xl2012, but after googling and finding the multiplayer videos really exciting only to find out there hasnt been mp since 2010 I will not purchase this...
The fact you could trade and make contracts with other players and their created cities is what drew me in but without that.... forget it..
I have anno 2070 and although its a great game in itself, the mp just sucks balls and all you get is someone destroying you within the first few minutes... was really looking forward to cities xl to put the fun back into city building and mp.....
The search continues...

I really cant believe they dropped the MP aspect from the original cities.
They really shot them selves in the foot with that one. If this had multi-player id buy it in a second. Without MP its just a wanna be simcity thats no where near as good. ..... Ill pass even if its on sale for 10 dollars

Multiplayer was dropped because it FAILED. It also bankrupt monte cristo in the process.
This game was a total failure from the start. MC never listened to us BETA testers and all bugs and memory leaks went unfixed, even to this day. The game has no life to it and after an hour or two its just plain boring and that's providing you can survive in the game for more than 30mins without a system crash.
The multiplayer died as there was nothing new to add to the experience. The trading system was broken and trades had to be renewed every two days or so or your city would die. You even had to pay a monthly fee to join this mind numbing experience. There was no mass transit in the game apart from buses and the buses were not available in SP mode along with other features that were stripped to try and make MP mode viable.
Simcity 2013 will suffer the same fate. It will die. Multiplayer is not supposed to be and should not be in a citybuilder.
