German Translation - Its a a Shame and Mega Fail

Translations were it seems done by a company (not the dev's) who weren't quite so skilled... changes will come in the future I believe.

Also, only the launcher is affected, the game itself has way better translation, at least i got told that by other players. I prefer to play in English.

Yeah its mostly ok .. but there at least 5 major mistakes that made me laugh .. also ingame theres a misspelled death text .. but i dont know exactly what is was ^^ .. "Sie sind Ende" .. oder so ähnlich ^^

Hehe, this is just as bad as the Champions Online german translation :)

It's a real shame that companies aren't willing to run a single mother-tongue tester through a game translation and when that person tells them of these problems, change them.

ich find "In der Nähe" für "Close" viel better ^^ .. gleich beim Start "ausfahrt" statt "Exit" hat mich auch ziemlich zum Lachen gebracht

Currently a number of games originaly made in english have translations for the german and french market that rival and even surpass All Your Base in their hillarity.
Sadly that isn't really acceptable. If they want to sell their product to a specific audience, they can't just say "Oi! Learn our language so we can sell this to you."

The Game can be played in English but the Launcher cant be setup in English. Dont know why.

I saw better translations from Chinese over English into German on adult toys. At least they tried to fake some effort. This is just sad.

If you're not able to translate your game proper, do NOT translate it.

Nope, with the google translator this would be a way better translation.

I guess more for one of the devs with german ancestors who teached him/her some words. ;)

I know many who just use german for hte sometime hilarious translations.

For myself I prefer to play in english ... and I hate, taht after every update all the settings in the launcher (including language) are reset or randomly chosen.

No real irony there. The OP did not sell a product with localisation. On the contrary, to be using a localised version of the game, it is only to be expected that english is not their mother tongue and thus mistakes in that language should not come as a complete surprise.

It's the same with the Spanish translation: hilariously bad in the launcher and bad in the game itself:

Close(Cerrar) is translated as Cerca(Near)
Save(Guardar) is translated as Ahorrar (only used with money/goods in Spanish)
Launch(Lanzar) is translated as Lanzamiento (only used in the sense of throwing an object in Spanish).

It reminds me of the Oblivion translation at release, when they translated "Nose" as "Nada"(nothing) because someone mistyped "None" :D

Is there a way to change the language of the menu?

This mix of 2 languages and bad translations are a kick in the teeth! I want the ENGLISH game! I'm running everything in english (including steam), so why is the menu/game in german?

You can change the in-game language to english. When you open the launcher, click the thrid button which in english is "Configure" to get into the options.

What's the point in letting someone who clearly DOES NOT SPEAK GERMAN translate your game to ger?

I can't seem to find the option to change it to english either.

Give me or some1 the textfiles to translate and I'll give it a shot an hour or so. Trust me, the outcome will be 10 times better than the current situation.

I always wondered what "In der Nähe" would be in the english original...but now it's pretty obvious. But "Sparen" was absolutely the best.
