Are there any texture packs for this game?

I am revisiting this game, and I am a little surprised by how "bad" the textures are by modern comparison. I am going to play through and enjoy the heck out of it, but I was wondering if there are any high-res texture packs to make it more enjoyable?

If not, does anyone have any experience with making high-res textures? I would be willing to learn the process if it doesn't take artist-like skills to do. If it does, I can't do it lol.

To this day- no. This game has great lighting effects and amazing normal maps, however, the textures still look too low-res to make the game really shine (no pun intended).

I loved this game on the PC and I'm sad to see it dead, so it seems worthwhile to see how to update it.

We can definitely start by seeing how the game handles encrypting texture files, I'm going to check back here when I found anything interesting.

Bad textures? You sure you scrolled down all the way in the options menu and maxed everything out? Here's how mine looks, damn good if you ask me.

The console command xr_shaderspecularscale 0 0 0 can be raised to 10 10 10 giving the textures a standing-out wet kind of look. Try xr_shaderspecularscale 2 2 2 at least if you want a change in how they look.
