Laggy as hell

and I have a Nvidia 460m, windows 7 i5 2.53ghz. 4 gig ram 1 of which is video so it definitely should run well. I turned vsync off, switched max fps to 40 instead of 31 but that didn't help. Also put smoothframerate to false. What gives?

What are the settings you are you using?

What kind of "lag" are you talking about? input/mouse lag? low FPS? stuttering?

Also don't forget to update video card drivers to the maximum from your video card family

My cards are upgraded. On the pause menu the mouse is very laggy. During the game there is stuttering.

you need to turn physx settings down
especially if you have an amd card
make sure your laptop is not getting too hot

your system should handle the game, at least the game menu (note: it is actually somewhat laggy sometimes).

Try the game with every setting on LOW and check if the game plays ok. If it does not, try older graphic drivers (try the ones which came with the laptop), check for background applications.

Also, see if disabling the sound helps. These sound cards on laptops are so bad that games will stutter because of them. Even my desktop onboard card is bad enough and some games I have to disable the game music
